Position Description
VOLO is looking for a Business Analyst who can combine structured problem-solving, client advisory and software delivery.
The Business Analyst will work directly with clients to understand business objectives, analyze processes, define priorities and translate business needs into clear requirements for VOLO’s delivery teams.
This is a client-facing role for professionals who can operate at the intersection of business and technology. The successful candidate should be able to structure problems, challenge assumptions, communicate with senior stakeholders and maintain alignment between business objectives and software delivery.
The successful candidate will be expected to actively use VOLO’s enterprise Claude environment, including Claude Cowork, shared skills and plugins, to accelerate research, analysis, documentation and requirement preparation, while remaining responsible for the accuracy, confidentiality and quality of the final output.
What you will do
- Engage with clients to understand their business model, objectives, processes, challenges and priorities.
- Lead discovery sessions, stakeholder interviews, workshops and requirements-gathering activities.
- Structure complex or ambiguous business problems and define clear areas of analysis.
- Analyze current processes, systems and user journeys and identify improvement opportunities.
- Translate business needs into functional requirements, non-functional requirements, user stories, use cases, process flows and acceptance criteria.
- Ensure requirements are clear, complete, prioritized, feasible and traceable.
- Work closely with tech leads, designers, developers, QA engineers and delivery managers.
- Maintain alignment between client stakeholders and delivery teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support backlog definition, prioritization, refinement and release planning.
- Assess the impact of requirement changes on scope, timelines, dependencies and business outcomes.
- Support solution validation, demonstrations, user acceptance testing and feedback collection.
- Identify opportunities to improve the client’s processes, expand the solution and create additional business value.
- Maintain clear and current project documentation, decision logs, and requirement records.
What You Need to Have
- At least three years of experience as a Business Analyst, Product Owner or in a similar client-facing role.
- Practical experience using AI tools for research, analysis, documentation and productivity.
- Experience leading client meetings, discovery sessions, workshops and stakeholder interviews.
- Experience working on software development, digital transformation, enterprise systems, process automation or technology consulting projects.
- Strong knowledge of requirements elicitation, process analysis, stakeholder management and requirements engineering.
- Demonstrated ability to convert business needs into structured software requirements.
- Practical understanding of the software development lifecycle.
- Experience working with architects, designers, developers, QA engineers and project or delivery managers.
- Excellent written and spoken English. German language will be considered a strong advantage.
- Strong analytical, communication, facilitation and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation quality.
Nice to Have
- Previous experience in a consulting or professional services firm, such as EY, PwC, Deloitte, KPMG, or a comparable organization.
- Product-oriented mindset, focusing on business value and user needs.
- Experience with Agile and Scrum delivery.
- Experience with backlog management, prioritization, sprint planning and release planning.
- Familiarity with BPMN, UML, process mapping, wireframes and requirements-management tools.
- General understanding of APIs, integrations, databases, data flows and software architecture.
- Experience supporting pre-sales, solution design, estimation or proposal preparation.
- IIBA certification, including ECBA, CCBA, or CBAP, is considered an advantage.
